PREA 2011 Paso Robles High School Scholarship Winners

Paso Robles, CA. July 22, 2011 – The Paso Robles Education Alliance (PREA) gave $30,000 in College Scholarship Funds to six (6), well deserving, Paso Robles High School graduate. Each graduate received $5,000 to go towards their college education.  The recipients were: Devon Lambert UC Davis, Conservation Biology;  Kyleigh De Petro UCLA, Physiological Science; Sara Mason, Cal Poly, Civil Engineering; Austin Ehrhardt, UC Berkeley, Undecided; Morgan Farrior, Cal Poly; English, Isaiah Jackson, UCSB Economics. “Thanks to PREA’s scholarship, I now have the money to help pay for the tough road ahead financially,” said Sara Mason.

PREA Board members reviewed the applications of thirty students who were bound for a University of California campus or Cal Poly, SLO and met the additional criteria of academic excellence, community participation and school activities. Of those, PREA chose their finalists based on the financial need character of the student. “It was a difficult process since so many of the students really stood out,” said PREA Board Member, Jeff Railsback.

PREA is a community based organization comprised of local businesses, parents, and educators who share the enthusiasm for promoting academic excellence by providing additional educational resources and opportunities in our local school system.
